Janesko Jewelry is inspired by travel. Her first trip overseas was to the Greek Islands, where the "evil eye" symbol is prevalent throughout the country. The earliest known evidence for belief in the evil eye goes back to ancient Greece and Rome. It is meant to “reflect” the power of the evil look. The evil eye amulet originated in Greece, where it was known as an “apotropaic” amulet, meaning that it reflected harm.
